What 51 and Healing Feels Like

There’s a sacred unfolding that happens when you stop trying to outrun your past and begin to walk alongside it. Healing isn’t loud. It’s not flashy. It’s not linear. It’s a gentle return to yourself; a remembering of who you were before the world told you who to be.

As I step fully into 51, I feel the shift deep in my bones. Not just the aging of the body, but the awakening of the soul. The choices I make now are rooted in intention, not urgency. I no longer strive to “keep up”, I slow down to stay present. I’m not chasing anyone else’s version of success. I’m defining peace for myself.

Healing has a way of changing how you walk through the world. And lately, I’ve been writing about that shift by capturing how it feels to move from survival to softness. This poem came from that space of reflection and rebirth:

The More I Heal
This is what 51 looks like.
Another sacred turn on this Earth.
Wearing every lesson like a crown,
Every scar like scripture.
The more I heal,
The more I feel different.
Softer.
Slower.
Quieter.
Not broken—becoming.
I crave space.
I need stillness.
I no longer chase belonging in noisy rooms.
I reach for hands that feel like home.
I avoid the chaos I once called comfort.
I protect my peace like it’s sacred—because it is.
Once armored.
Now open.
Once loud to be seen.
Now soft to be heard—by me.
I am not like others.
I am not meant to be.
I am soul and stardust.
A mystery wrapped in wonder.
I’ve lived a thousand lives…
And with my face to the sun,
I will live a thousand more.

Mindful Tips for Embracing Your Journey + Building Self-Acceptance

1. Make space for solitude.

Stillness isn’t emptiness, it’s sacred space for your inner voice to rise. Whether it’s a walk in nature, quiet time with tea, or sitting with your breath, give yourself permission to just be.

2. Let go of comparison.

You are not late. You are not lost. You are on your own timeline. Gently redirect your attention away from others’ highlight reels and toward your own inner growth.

3. Practice mirror affirmations.

Look into your own eyes and say something kind. Start with: “I am worthy of love. I am healing. I trust my path.” It might feel strange at first. That’s okay! Wholeness takes practice, be patient.

4. Celebrate emotional shifts.

Feeling more tender? More sensitive? Good. That means you’re softening in all the right places. Let your emotions guide you, not shame you.

5. Keep a “Becoming” Journal.

Each week, write one way you’ve grown, even if it’s small. Healing often hides in the quiet shifts we overlook. Document them! Honor them!

6. Surround yourself with soul-nourishing people.

Energy is contagious. Choose to be with those who see you, hold space for you, and celebrate your evolution, not just your achievements.
